Professional Terms

1. Role of LaneSeek

LaneSeek is a platform that connects professionals with users seeking career insight. Professionals are independent contractors, not employees of LaneSeek.

2. Compensation

Professionals receive 60% of the session fee. LaneSeek retains a 40% platform fee to cover operations, payment processing, and platform development.

3. Free Sessions

Professionals may choose to offer complimentary free sessions at their own discretion. When a free session is booked, no payment is charged to the explorer and the professional does not receive a payout. Explorers are limited to one free session every three months. You can activate or deactivate free sessions in the Payments section of your dashboard.

4. Payment Timing & Settlement

After a session ends, you have 24 hours to confirm it happened. If both parties confirm, payment is captured immediately. If either party confirms and the other doesn't, payment is automatically captured 24 hours after the session ends (silence is agreement). Payments are processed via Stripe Connect based on your payout schedule. If the room was never accessed, the hold is automatically released.

5. Cancellations & No-Shows

• •Cancellations more than 12 hours before the session result in no charge and no payout.
• •Cancellations within 12 hours of the session, or user no-shows, result in 50% of the session fee being charged to the user.
• •Professionals receive 60% of that amount.
• •Rescheduled sessions are not subject to any cancellation fee, regardless of timing.
• •If a professional cancels, the authorization is released and no payment is issued.
• •Professionals may waive the 50% fee for explorer cancellations at their discretion from the dashboard.

6. Disputes

If an explorer files a dispute within 24 hours of session end, the payment hold is frozen and our admin team reviews the case. Disputes are resolved at LaneSeek's discretion based on evidence and platform policies.

7. Refunds

If a refund is issued to a user, LaneSeek may adjust or reverse payouts accordingly.

8. Taxes

Professionals are responsible for all applicable taxes and reporting obligations. LaneSeek does not withhold taxes on behalf of professionals.

9. Conduct

Professionals must provide accurate, honest, and professional interactions. Misrepresentation of credentials or experience may result in account suspension.

10. Platform Rights

LaneSeek may suspend accounts, remove professionals, or withhold payouts in cases of disputes, policy violations, or misconduct.

11. Limitation of Liability

LaneSeek is not responsible for the outcomes of conversations or any decisions made by users based on those conversations.
